Habi-Tours

Habitat for Humanity is offering Habi-tours, short introductions to the work of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to provide housing opportunities for those who cannot otherwise afford to own a home in this area, and globally.
Guests visit a construction site, see volunteers working alongside future homeowners building their homes and learn about Habitat for Humanity corporate partners on a national and local level.  They receive information about how families qualify to become a partner homeowner and realize their dream of home ownership.
Habi-Tours are a wonderful opportunity to introduce the community to the wonderful work that Habitat for Humanity does.
For more information on this event or to learn about one of our future Habi-Tours, please contact Jennifer Wise at (310) 323-4663 ext. 124 or email her at: jwise@habitatla.org.

ArtHouse

ArtHouse is an annual fine art extravaganza benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. The silent fine art auction has featured fabulous artworks, including the work of important artists such as Ed Ruscha, James Rosenquist, Michael Pavlik, Julius Shulman and many others.  Art/House is known as one of the best art events in Southern California featuring dozens of pieces of collectible art in many mediums all donated by renown artists to benefit Habitat’s work!  The event features live music, food and cocktails, and a chance to meet and mingle with many of the participating artists. Bids start at a fraction of the actual value, so you can get a great value on high quality fine art, and support Habitat for Humanity. Check back for updates on Art House 2012.

A Cause for Celebration

Ground Breaking, Wall-Raising, Kick Off’s and Dedications:

Nearly every Habitat for Humanity home begins with a Groundbreaking, Kick-off or Wall-raising ceremony which is a symbolic representation of new opportunities and hope.

Dedication/ Block Parties:

Following the completion of the Habitat for Humanity build, the site is dedicated and presented to the new partner homeowners. The celebration of the completion of the build and the beginning of life in a new home is a very special celebration for funding partners, community partners, volunteers and the new homeowners.
