Los Angeles, CA – June 18, 2014: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) has been named the largest non-profit Residential Developer in Los Angeles County by The Los Angeles Business Journal’s Book of Lists for 2014. The Book of Lists, published in the publication’s April 28th issue, features a list of the Top 25 Residential Developers in Los Angeles.
“It is an honor to be recognized by The Los Angeles Business Journal and to be named in such esteemed company,” said Erin Rank, president/CEO of HFH GLA. “The past several years have been a challenge for residential developers, and especially nonprofit builders. We are pleased that our home production grew even during these very tough times. Our dedicated staff and visionary board are a big factor in our success.”
Some HFH GLA highlights from the Book of Lists for 2014
• HFH GLA is the 9th Largest Residential Developer overall – topping several large companies such as Olson, AEG, Beazer and Brookfield.
• HFH GLA is the ONLY company in the Top 25 with a female President/CEO.
• HFH GLA has built the 2nd most “affordable homes” in the $0 – $300,000 price range.
• HFH GLA is one of only two non-profit organizations listed.
Habitat for Humanity was founded on the premise that everyone deserves a decent, sustainable and affordable place to call home. HFH GLA partner homeowners invest sweat equity hours building their homes and also pay back a zero-interest mortgage. In turn, their monthly mortgage payments enable HFH GLA to build more homes and serve more families. Every five minutes a Habitat for Humanity home is built or renovated somewhere in the world.
Rank added, “We thank the volunteers, donors and community partners who support us so that we may carry out our mission to improve the lives of more hardworking Angelenos through homeownership each year.”
