GENERAL DESCRIPTION


We are seeking a qualified and motivated candidate to lead home construction projects and supervise crews of employees and volunteers under the direction of the Wildfire Rebuild LA Project Manager. The Crew Leader is responsible for teaching and guiding skilled and unskilled team members in safely and effectively performing construction tasks. This role is key in maintaining high-quality workmanship and fostering a collaborative, safety-focused work environment. In addition to disaster recovery efforts, the Crew Leader may also support general home repair projects as needed.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Complete Home Repair Tasks and daily new construction by guiding teams of construction workers and volunteers to complete the assigned work safely.
  • Interact with homeowners and clients at the job site to inform them of progress and plans. Communicate with site leadership and provide regular project updates.
  • Conduct safety training, maintain safety equipment on site, and ensure safety practices are always implemented. Teach necessary skills to volunteer labor and manage crews of volunteers as directed by site leadership by providing details on tasks, tools, materials, and schedules.
  • Ensure completed tasks meet expectations and requirements and are of high quality. Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, a 75 physical lift test, a background check authorization, and a driving record check.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Hands-on experience with home repair and/or new construction work.
  • Ability to supervise and guide crews, including staff and volunteers.
  • Capable of training both skilled and unskilled workers on tools, materials, and tasks.
  • Able to communicate with team members, site leadership, and homeowners.
  • Understanding of job site safety practices and ability to conduct safety training.
  • Commitment to ensuring work meets high-quality standards and project requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and supporting various tasks as needed.
  • Able to perform physically demanding construction tasks and work outdoors in varying conditions.

WORK CONDITIONS:


  • Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs.
  • Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary.
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens.
  • Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces.
  • Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area.

COMPENSATION


Pay Range: $25.00/hr. - $29.81/hr.
