Wells Fargo donates $75,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to help more families in greater Los Angeles access decent, affordable housing

Bellflower, CA (September 29, 2021) – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is one of more than 220 Habitat organizations awarded a grant from Wells Fargo as part of its nationwide initiative to help low-to-moderate income families construct and improve homes across the country.

“Far too many people across the country are facing housing instability and one of our key priorities is to create housing affordability solutions where everyone can have a safe and affordable place to call home,” said Linda Nguyen, Community Relations Senior Consultant, Wells Fargo. “With the home preservation program and neighborhood revitalization services, we are proud to support Habitat for Humanity in providing homeownership opportunities for hundreds of families nationwide through Wells Fargo Builds.”

Habitat LA will receive $75,000 and use the funding to repair five homes in the greater Los Angeles region as part of its Home Preservation program. Habitat LA partners with low-income homeowners in need of critical home repairs, ranging from wheelchair ramps and new roofs to simple exterior work, all of which help families stay in their homes. This year, Habitat LA will serve more than 100 households through this program, including veterans and families that have survived recent natural disasters.

“Having a safe home is more important than ever, as is preserving the affordable housing stock in Los Angeles for families. With this support from Wells Fargo, Habitat LA will be able to help five families with critical home repairs. We greatly appreciate Wells Fargo’s continued support and partnership to ensure that these families and local communities can continue to thrive,” said Erin Rank, Habitat LA President & CEO.

The grant is part of a $7.75 million donation Wells Fargo is making to Habitat for Humanity International through Wells Fargo Builds, an initiative that provides philanthropic financial support and volunteerism to create sustainable affordable housing. More than 340 homes will be constructed or repaired with Habitat in over 40 states through the initiative this year. Wells Fargo Builds is part of Wells Fargo’s $1 billion philanthropic commitment to create more housing affordability solutions by 2025.
