Mexi-CAN Global Village Trip

Global Village Trip - April 2018 1Seven members of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) Board of Directors helped to build a home for Juan, Monica and their son Emmanuel in Nayarit, Mexico this February 2018 through our annual Chairman’s Global Village trip.

“It was a rewarding week of being able to see Habitat’s work in action internationally, said Erin Rank President and CEO, Habitat LA. “Since 1989, Habitat for Humanity Mexico has fought poverty through adequate housing, supporting and empowering more than 57,000 families in organized communities and it was wonderful for our affiliate to join the nearly 7,000 volunteers who have been of service to families in Mexico.”

The hard work of the 15-member build team helped our partner family save more than 22,000 pesos (approximately $1,200) in labor costs and over a month’s time in the construction of their home.
