Last month, the Los Angeles Rams teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) to repair three homes and rebuild a local playground and basketball court in Seminole Springs, a mobile home park in Agoura Hills severely impacted by the Woolsey fire. In addition to Rams staff, players and cheerleaders, the team invited season ticket holders to join them in the volunteer efforts to work alongside local residents.

On Tuesday, September 17 Habitat LA hosted a very special Rams “Huddle for 100” Build Day in honor of the NFL’s 100th season. Volunteers from the Rams organization along with Rampage, the team mascot,  worked together with residents to rebuild a local playground, basketball court, and repair three homes, bringing hope and joy to the Seminole Springs community where over 110 homes were lost due to the devastating Woolsey fire.

“The joy on the kids’ faces when they saw the new playground was everything. We will be here rebuilding until the last family moves in,” said Erin Rank, Habitat LA President and CEO. “We are so grateful for the continuous support from the Los Angeles Rams.”

Rams offensive linemen Jamil Demby, Jeremiah Kolone, and Bobby Evans came out to lend a helping hand during their day off and were able to meet neighbors and learn the impact of their volunteer efforts. Seminole Springs resident Theresa Cavalleri expressed how these efforts are an important part of the community’s recovery: “It’s like a new beginning, it’s just a blessing, and it’s a renewal for everybody to see [rebuilding].”

“It’s important to get volunteers in the community along with the Rams to come and help the recovery this year at Seminole Springs, and moving forward, to make sure that these residents get back to normal as soon as they can,” shared  Los Angeles Rams Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Demoff.

Since returning home to Los Angeles, the Rams have worked with Habitat LA on a variety of initiatives to improve the LA community. The Rams’ entire rookie class has participated in Habitat LA’s Hollywood Build with players working side by side with entertainment industry executives, celebrities, corporate leaders, government officials and faith groups to frame walls for a 10-home development in Culver City.

Last month, Habitat LA honored the Los Angeles Rams at our 2019 Los Angeles Builders Ball on Thursday, September 26 at the Beverly Hilton with the Dream Builder Award for their vision and commitment to improving their local community. GO RAMS!
