Nothing embodies the holiday spirit quite like a festive gift basket! And thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we created 60 themed baskets—spreading a little extra holiday cheer to Habitat LA families.
We’re especially grateful to U.S. Bank for their generous donation. The bank has supported Habitat LA’s holiday initiatives since 2014—both financially and in-person. Thrive Market also graciously donated a gift card and groceries to each gift basket.
In early December we opened our holiday workshop to begin assembling the baskets. In addition to a team of volunteer “elves,” we were honored to welcome Actress/Director/Producer Chandra Wilson who worked alongside Habitat LA President and CEO Erin Rank. Fun fact: Chandra and Erin will meet up again at our Los Angeles Builders Ball on March 9, 2022 when Habitat LA presents Chandra with the prestigious Dream Builder award.
The creatively-themed baskets cater to a variety of tastes and activities including a holiday bake set with cookie cutters, sprinkles, mixes and more, and a game night basket filled with a holiday DVD, a board or card game, and of course—popcorn. Two holiday themed baskets are all about the cozy—with treats like coffee, tea, or hot cocoa mix, sweets, candles, and warm socks.
Once assembled, these baskets of good cheer were delivered to our Habitat families by volunteers and members of local civic and faith organizations including the Rotary Club of Inglewood, National Charity League, El Segundo Chapter, and Beatitudes of Our Lord Catholic Church.
