Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) mourns the loss of one of our beloved former Board members, Randy Farwell, who passed away on May 15, 2020. Randy had a BIG love for the work of Habitat for Humanity and joined us on many local builds with his wife Cathy, as well as two global builds to Nicaragua and Vietnam.

Randy’s commitment to the work of Habitat wasn’t just through building, he advocated on our behalf and personally sponsored a Farwell family table at almost every one of our Los Angeles Builders Ball events. One of Randy’s last builds with us was on our Globe Ave. project in Culver City, when he joined us for the Hollywood for Habitat build in 2018.

In honor of Randy’s big heart for Habitat, his family has set up a memorial fund in his name, so that they can build a future Habitat LA home in his honor. “Randy made lasting memories that many of us will treasure and made sure all of his family and children got his love for Habitat,” shared Erin Rank, Habitat LA President and CEO. “We are honored that Randy’s family continues to hold Habitat so close to their hearts during this difficult time and we hold his family in our hearts.”
