Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ 2019 Hollywood Build Raises nearly $300,000 for Affordable Housing

More than 300 Volunteers Built Homes and Hope during the 2-Day Event, Presented by City National Bank

Los Angeles, CA (June 20, 2019) — Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA), along with presenting sponsor City National Bank, announced that its 2019 Hollywood Build raised nearly $300,000 to help address the pressing need for affordable housing in the greater Los Angeles through permanent housing solutions.

The 2019 Hollywood Build attracted more than 300 volunteers and featured the Entertainment Industry Build on Friday, June 7th and Power Women, Power Tools® on Saturday, June 8th. Entertainment industry executives, celebrities, corporate leaders, government officials, faith groups, and community stakeholders lent their time, talent, and donated for the special build event. Volunteers worked side-by-side with current and future Habitat LA homeowners to help build a 10-home community currently underway in Culver City.

“Right now, there is a critical need for affordable housing in Los Angeles and communities everywhere,” says Erin Rank, President and CEO of Habitat LA. “Through events like the Hollywood Build, and partnering with amazing sponsors like City National Bank, we are working to continue making a significant impact in the lives of hardworking families and individuals who need a decent place to call home.”

During the lunch presentation, Lindsay Dunn, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of City National Bank’s Real Estate Division, said that the 2019 Hollywood Build is part of an ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

Dunn added, “We are incredibly happy to be part of a mission that drives hope, fulfills dreams, and brings families together for stable and secure futures. We share a deep passion for commitment and community, and we understand the far-reaching needs and effects of investing in people through Habitat for Humanity.”
