Happy Thanksgiving from
Habitat LA!

Enjoy a no-cook recipe from the Marks Family, one of our Habitat LA partner homeowners!



2 15-oz. cans of black-eyed peas
2 15-oz. cans of whole kernel corn
3 medium stalks of green onions, chopped
5-6 pickled jalapeño slices, chopped
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
Italian salad dressing
3 Roma tomatoes, chopped
2 avocados, chopped (optional)


  1. Rinse and drain the black-eyed peas and corn.
  2. Combine black-eyed peas and corn in a large bowl with chopped green onions, garlic and jalapeños, and Italian dressing to taste.
  3. Let chill for at least three hours.
  4. Before serving, add the chopped tomatoes and avocados.

Serves 6-8 people. For every two additional people, add one more of each ingredient.
