Habitat LA’s 20th Anniversary Power Women, Power Tools® Powered by City National Bank

(LOS ANGELES, CA) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is proud to host its 20th anniversary Power Women, Power Tools® build in the city of San Fernando with the support of presenting sponsor, City National Bank. This landmark build event will span two-days, June 14-15, 2024, as female executives and leaders will help repair and beautify the homes of six local families.

Habitat LA holds this uplifting annual event to bring together female leaders of diverse backgrounds to work together to improve the communities in which we call home. The theme “20 Years of CommUnity” is a reminder of the powerful transformation that can occur when people come together with a common goal. At this year’s event, we will host 200 volunteers who will be working side by side to help repair homes for low-income families.

“We recognize the positive impact women leaders make as they uplift their communities in meaningful ways including through greater economic stability,” said Vanessa Montanez, Senior Vice President, Head of Community Lending, City National Bank. “We look forward to this event every year because it provides an opportunity for us to roll up our sleeves alongside these inspiring leaders and help make a very tangible difference for families in our community. City National Bank is honored to continue supporting Habitat LA’s tremendous efforts to help families throughout greater Los Angeles.”

Power Women, Power Tools started in 2004 as an empowering event build for women to come out to a construction site and contribute by helping build affordable housing in Los Angeles. Over the last twenty years, thousands of volunteers have come to this annual build to break down barriers and build walls that will be safe and affordable places for local families to call home. Past attendees have included Angela Bassett, Rosario Dawson, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Holly Robinson Peete, Pauley Perette, Maria Shriver, Chandra Wilson, and many more.

“For 20 years, Power Women, Power Tools has been a significant way for Habitat LA to build unity in the communities we serve as we build and repair homes. We draw dedicated leaders and supporters into our movement to transform lives and make homeownership possible for families throughout greater Los Angeles,” said Erin Rank, President and CEO of Habitat LA. “With the support of City National Bank, we are sure to make a lasting change during our 20th anniversary celebration.”
