Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Kicks Off Act! Speak! Build! Week by Announcing Door Decorating Contest Winners

Reception to Take Place at Long Beach City College on Monday, April 13th

 LOS ANGELES (April 13, 2015) – Act! Speak! Build! Week (ASBW) is a national Habitat for Humanity Initiative designed to educate youth on housing issues and give them a forum for taking action. This year’s ASBW is taking place April 12-18.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ (Habitat LA) premier ASBW activity was the “Key to Inspiration” door decorating contest. Youth of all ages from across greater Los Angeles designed and decorated common doors to raise awareness for affordable homeownership opportunities. The contest winners have been selected by a panel of judges made up of artists, actors, fellow youth and educators as well as friends of Habitat LA’s Facebook page. Their work will be on display and celebrated at a reception taking place at Long Beach City College on Monday, April 13th.

The winners will also be joined by Habitat LA’s ASBW youth ambassador, actor Donis Leonard Jr. of the Showtime hit series ‘House of Lies’.
