Giving Back to Local Heroes: Habitat LA Hosts Veterans Home Repair Blitz in Honor of Veterans Day

Los Angeles, CA—In honor of Veterans Day, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) will host three days of home renovations for veterans in Compton and Paramount. The annual Veterans Home Repair Blitz will take place from November 7–9, 2024, as part of Habitat LA’s ongoing Habitat for Heroes program, which is dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

Serving, Honoring, and Building Community with Local Veterans

Habitat LA, along with our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, will come together to provide critical home repairs for two veterans in the greater Los Angeles area. These repairs will include roof and fence replacements, exterior stucco repairs, and a fresh paint job.

“This Veterans Home Repair Blitz is a powerful demonstration of our unwavering commitment to serve and honor the growing veteran community in greater Los Angeles. It’s a deeply meaningful event for Habitat LA, as it allows us to give back to our local heroes and ensure their families have the safe, secure homes they deserve,” said Erin Rank, President & CEO of Habitat LA.

This renovation effort will not only provide immediate relief but also lay the foundation for ongoing support through our Habitat for Heroes program. Proceeds from the event will be reinvested into the community, allowing us to continue offering affordable housing options, essential home repairs, and homebuyer education for veterans year-round.

Generous Sponsors Supporting Our Veterans

The 2024 Veterans Home Repair Blitz is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors, including Verizon, City National Bank, The Home Depot Foundation, Ring, and Sons of American Legion Squadron 283. We deeply appreciate their contributions and their dedication to helping veterans and active-duty personnel achieve stability and dignity through homeownership.
