“Color My World” Campaign will Raise Funds to Build More Affordable Homes in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA — May 3, 2017: Patrick Dragonette in partnership with Doug and Gene Meyer will kick off Color My World, a benefit campaign for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA), during LEGENDS 2017 to be held May 9 – 11 in the La Cienega Design Quarter (LCDQ). LEGENDS is a 3-day celebration of design that brings together thousands of VIPs and tastemakers from the worlds of interior design, decor, art, fashion and architecture.
“As a long time nonprofit partner of the LEGENDS event, we are inspired by the members of the LCDQ for their commitment to our mission,” says Erin Rank, President and CEO, Habitat LA. “Patrick’s effort to create a special campaign to further boost donations and awareness for Habitat LA is especially humbling and we are extremely grateful to him and all the generous members of the design community for their support.”
The Color My World campaign, hosted by Dragonette LTD, will begin with an in-store VIP reception on May 9th from 8 to 10pm, where guests may acquire an original artwork (measuring 12” X18”) from internationally renowned designers and artists for a donation of $500 each. The identity of the designer/artist is revealed only after the work is purchased. On May 10th starting at 1:00 PM, the remaining works will be available to the public online and in-store for $200 each. All proceeds benefit Habitat LA.
Confirmed participants include Nate Berkus, Amy Sedaris, Mary McDonald, Lee Ledbetter, Trina Turk, Mark Badgley, James Mischka, Cynthia Rowley, and many more.
“Patrick is a wonderful friend to both LCDQ and Habitat LA,” says Gerry Bross, LCDQ treasurer and former Chairman of the Board for Habitat LA. “He values what Habitat LA does in his own community and we are so grateful for members like Patrick who are willing to donate their time, talents and connections to build hope for a better tomorrow for low-income families in Los Angeles.”
“We have always been excited by the prospect of raising money for such a worthy cause, and look forward to this year’s event, which wouldn’t be possible without all of the talented people who helped make this project come together,” adds Patrick Dragonette.
Habitat LA will also receive a percentage of tickets sales from this year’s LEGENDS event. The LEGENDS 2017 theme “Your True Colors” will be expressed in the 60+ windows of the member LCDQ shops, showrooms and galleries. The window designers have been invited to express originality and diversity in the vignettes they create. LEGENDS continues to grow in popularity each year, with thousands traveling to Los Angeles for the 3-day event that begins with a Gala cocktail reception followed by 2 days of keynote panels, receptions, personal appearances, book signings, roundtables and exhibitions.
