Delta Air Lines in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) kicked off their 10th home construction project in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 12 on West 93rd Street. Top executives and over 20 employee volunteers from Delta Air Lines, were on hand to raise the walls on one of our two newest Habitat LA homes.

For almost a decade, Delta Air Lines has had a unique partnership with Habitat LA. The tools, building materials, and the construction know-how are all provided by Habitat LA, while Delta flies in more than 500 employee volunteers from across the country to build the house over the course of just six weeks.

“Delta Air Lines has been an important partner to us and is one of our past Los Angeles Builders Ball® honorees for their support in transforming the landscape of LA.” said Erin Rank, Habitat LA President and CEO. “Through their generous multi-year commitment and volunteerism, Delta has continued to play an instrumental role in neighborhood revitalization in Los Angeles.”

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Delta has built 273 homes in over 13 countries. Delta has donated over $1.4 million to Habitat LA.  In 2018, Delta completed a single-family home and an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in the city of Los Angeles. Delta went above and beyond to support that build and donated an additional $75,000 to make sure Habitat LA could build the ADU.
