Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Hosts Home Dedication Ceremony for Eight New Homeowners in Lancaster

LOS ANGELES, CA – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) will be hosting a heartwarming dedication ceremony for eight first-time homebuyers at the Russell Ranch development in Lancaster on Saturday, November 2, 2024. This event marks the completion of a new affordable home development in an area desperate for more housing options.

Join Habitat LA, community members, elected officials, and supporters of affordable housing as they welcome the new homeowners and celebrate the creation of a sustainable and thriving neighborhood.

The newly completed homes, featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, attached 2-car garages, and eco-friendly amenities like drought-tolerant landscaping, low-flow plumbing, and solar panels, are designed to help reduce utility costs and provide lasting comfort for the families.

“This dedication represents a significant moment for Habitat LA in Antelope Valley,” said Erin Rank, President & CEO of Habitat LA. “We’re excited to celebrate with the new homeowners and the community as we build toward a future where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live. Special thanks to our incredible construction partners, donors, and volunteers for their support in making Russell Ranch a reality.”

The Russell Ranch development is just the beginning of Habitat LA’s larger affordable housing initiatives in Lancaster that will bring nearly 100 new homes to the area over the next four years. The project was made possible with the help of our partners including: The City of Lancaster, Clark Construction, CMAA Southern California Chapter, Desert Vineyard Church, First Citizens Bank, Southern California Edison, Turner Construction, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, and Whirlpool, alongside the dedicated work of volunteers and GIK contributions.
