This holiday season, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) has so many reasons to spread holiday cheer. With new Habitat LA partner family homeowners in their new homes for the holidays, December has been a busy month as we express gratitude to all who helped make this happen. From our Building Holiday Memories partner family event to the 2019 Holiday Reception thanking donors and volunteers for their support, 2019 has been an amazing year for Habitat LA.
Habitat LA is proud of the success we have accomplished as a community this year. From completing our $100 million five-year campaign and surpassing the goal, to our award-winning neighborhood revitalization work in the Washington Neighborhood of Long Beach, to the incredible growth in our three Habitat LA ReStores and e-commerce platform; donors and volunteers have helped us welcome home Habitat LA partner families and homeowners, who will be building new holiday memories in their homes this season.

On Thursday, December 5th, nearly 100 Habitat LA donors and volunteers stepped out for a night of fun at the Flight Path Museum and Learning Center near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for the 2019 Holiday Reception. In appreciation of their dedication to Habitat’s mission to make sure everyone has a decent place to live, donors and volunteers enjoyed an evening of food and drinks from countries around the world where Habitat LA has built homes through our tithes and global builds. Since 1990, Habitat LA has served over 550 families internationally in more than 30 countries. Guests viewed pictures of Habitat LA’s annual Global Village Trips and the jumbo jets as they departed from the runways of LAX. Donors and volunteers also wrote holiday greetings to Habitat LA partner families, before ending the night with some holiday photo booth fun. View event photos here!

On Saturday, December 14th, Habitat LA celebrated our partner homeowners with the Building Holiday Memories celebration at Calvary Bellflower Church to provide our families with a hand up this holiday season. Sponsored by U.S. Bank for the 6th year in a row, this event was filled with food, holiday crafts, musical entertainment, and of course a special visit from Santa Claus and his elf.
