Though we are physically apart, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ (Habitat LA) supporters are still building together. To drum up anticipation of 2020 Power Women, Power Tools virtual event presented by City National Bank, many volunteers participated in challenges prior to the event, showing how they build better futures in Los Angeles!
People in our community and all over the world partner with Habitat LA to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers. Habitat LA invited volunteers to help us physical-distance build from their homes! Using only the materials in their homes – and a whole lot of imagination, volunteers built a Habitat LA house. From green building with recycled materials, to innovative virtual designs, and even a unique hand-drawn picture; our volunteers turned up the level of creativity as they built! Congrats to our overall winner Asjia R. who built a two-story house with Legos, that featured details for every room of the house, and was recognized as the most realistic design. Thank you to all of our participants. Keep inspiring the community around you as you continue to Imagine, Design, Build!
