Tammy McGuinness has been an enthusiastic member of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Board of Directors for over two years and has supported Habitat for Humanity’s mission for over a decade. She brings positivity and passion to our leadership team and we are so pleased to have her support as part of the 2019 Los Angeles Builders Ball® Host Committee. We invite you to get to know a little more about Tammy’s drive and determination to improve her community.

Who inspires you to give back to your community? 

My husbandmy sonsand my firm are very passionate about volunteering in our community. They inspire me every day. 

Why do you support Habitat for Humanity? How long have you been involved? 

I have been involved since 1990 and I support Habitat because every person has the right to safe housing for themselves and their families. 

What do you wish people knew about Habitat for Humanity?  

The enormous impact their services have toward assisting millions of people in need each year. 

What does “home” mean to you? 

Home means family, safety and lots of love.

More about Tammy McGuiness 

Tammy McGuinness is a Tax Partner in KPMG’s Los Angeles Tax Practice. She has over 30 years of experience working as a consultant in public accounting and managing large scale tax departments in the industry. Tammy is also the Partner-in-Charge of Tax for the Pacific Southwest business unit of KPMGwhich includes four offices in Southern California and Phoenix. She has also worked in the firm’s New York office and has served as lead tax partner on several large multi-national accounts for audit and non-audit clients. Tammy has assisted companies with complex tax issues and has broad experience working with clients and leading tax planning and tax controversy for multi-national engagements. She is also a subject matter expert in the area of accounting for income taxes and has led tax accounting and global tax compliance outsourcing projects ranging from full tax department outsourcing to focused expertise on complex issues. Her experience also includes over 12 years in an industry where she led the tax function for one of the nation’s leading fashion specialty retailers and served as a Vice President of Tax & Risk Management for a large public real estate company.  

Tammy works with national and multinational companies and is experienced with mergers, acquisitions, business structure planning, tax accounting and tax planning. She provides tax services to a wide variety of businesses including service industries, biopharmaceutical, online travel, wholesalers, manufacturers, media, technology and energy.
