For 35 years, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) has helped people build strong, stable foundations for their futures. When disaster strikes, our commitment to rebuilding Los Angeles is even stronger.
From wildfires and floods to earthquakes and mudslides, disasters leave survivors facing more than the loss of their homes. Many are also burdened with overwhelming financial challenges. Habitat LA is here to help restore stability and hope, prioritizing support for low-income households that are uninsured, underinsured—those that are the most vulnerable.
Our Disaster Relief Services:
- Smoke Remediation
Smoke damage clean-up and remediation so you can safely return to your home. - Water Damage
Repairing and restoring flooring, walls, and electrical systems. - Home Repairs
Essential repairs to restore your home. - Rebuilding
Support and funding to help you rebuild your home. - Gap Financing
Silent loans to cover the difference between insurance payouts and actual rebuilding costs. - Replacement items
Appliances, furniture and household goods to replace what was lost.
The Habitat LA Accelerator Fund:
As an immediate step, we have launched the Accelerator Fund—flexible grants of up to $10,000 designed to remove barriers and help you get back home faster.
These funds can cover needs that insurance and FEMA don’t, such as:
- Legal and title issues
- Permitting and impact fees
- Air, smoke, lead, or asbestos testing
- Insurance disputes
- Utility connection delays
- Essential household items like appliances and furniture
Unlike a loan, these grants never need to be repaid. They are designed to help households rebuild without delay.
You may qualify if:
- Your home was damaged in the 2025 Palisades or Eaton Canyon wildfires
- You own your own home and it’s your primary residence before the wildfires
- Your household income is at or below 120% of area median income.

Our Commitment
Recovery takes time—but you won’t walk it alone. Habitat LA stands beside you every step of the way, from the moment disaster strikes to the day they can safely return home.
Together, we can rebuild stronger, safer communities.
