A Hand Up Not A Hand Out
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) builds simple, sustainable and affordable homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income families and individuals. We offer a hand up, not a hand out, by providing a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a long-term investment for your future.
Habitat homes are affordable thanks to government subsidies, volunteer labor and community support. Selected Habitat homeowners pay a modest down payment, invest up to 500 hours of “Sweat Equity” in the construction of their home and are responsible for monthly mortgage payments and upkeep. In addition, HFH GLA prepares Habitat Homeowners to be successful through a comprehensive homeownership education program.
HFH GLA is currently accepting applications for homes in Long Beach, Lynwood and South Gate.
