Empowering Our Youth
Imagine not having a safe place to come home to after school, enough light to do your homework or enough space to have a friend over. Thousands of young people in LA County are living in unsafe, overcrowded places and through Habitat for Humanity’s Youth Initiatives, volunteers ages 5-25 can help give these families a simple, decent place to call home.

LEAD
Apply now to join our Youth United Committee! Help strategize for and execute fundraising, advocacy and publicity initiatives.
ADVOCATE
Sign up your school or group to participate in World Habitat Day 2011 on October 3rd.
To recognize the need for adequate shelter internationally, the United Nations has designated the first Monday of every October as World Habitat Day (WHD). Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles will recognize by requesting individuals and groups to sign up as World Habitat Day Supporters- those that say, “Yes, I believe that access to adequate shelter is a basic human right.” Register today! The first 100 supporters registered by Oct. 1st. will receive a “I Support Affordable Housing” bracelet!
CREATE
If your high school or college does not already have a Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, apply to officially partner with HFH to build, fundraise, advocate and educate.
FUNDRAISE
Join thousands of other youth in the Los Angeles area and help raise funds to sponsor a HFH GLA home through our Nickels for Nails campaign.
BUILD
If you are 16 or older, come and swing a hammer with us. Help to build or renovate a home with a hardworking family.
