GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The Wildfire Rebuild LA Project Manager leads wildfire and disaster recovery projects, ensuring they are finished on time, within budget, and meet project goals. They plan and organize tasks, set goals, manage schedules and resources, and handle issues. They also hold regular team meetings to track progress and solve problems. This role may also support general home repair projects when needed.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Manage Daily Operations of Project Sites

  • Oversee the daily activities at one or more active construction or rebuild sites.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, follows building codes, and meets quality standards.
  • Monitor progress to keep projects on schedule and within the established budget.
  • Quickly identify and address any issues that may delay or impact project delivery.

Coordinate Project Logistics

  • Plan and schedule the purchase of materials, ensuring timely delivery to job sites.
  • Manage the permitting process, including submitting required documents and pulling permits as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Supervise and Support Field Teams

  • Provide leadership and guidance to crew leaders, skilled workers, and laborers on-site.
  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Offer training and coaching as needed to maintain high standards of workmanship.

Conduct Site Assessments and Project Estimations

  • Visit and evaluate potential project sites to determine the scope of work and feasibility.
  • Develop accurate cost and materials estimates based on assessments.
  • Draft floor plans or construction layouts to support permit applications or design approvals.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, 75 lb. lift test, and driving record check.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Proven experience managing residential construction or disaster recovery projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating resources.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, permitting processes, and general construction methods, particularly for residential rebuilds and repairs.
  • Experience leading field teams, including crew leaders and laborers.
  • Ability to assign tasks, monitor performance, and maintain a productive and safe work environment.
  • Skilled in managing multiple project sites, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
  • Ability to conduct site visits, evaluate conditions, and develop accurate cost and material estimates.
  • Experience creating basic floor plans or construction layouts for permit applications.
  • Capable of leading regular team meetings, identifying project challenges, and implementing solutions.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, construction scheduling software, and basic drafting or design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
  • Background in rebuilding or repairing homes after disasters such as wildfires, floods, or earthquakes.

WORK CONDITIONS:


  • Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs.
  • Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary.
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens.
  • Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces.
  • Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area.

COMPENSATION


Pay Range: $100,000 - $135,000/year.
