GENERAL DESCRIPTION


Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking a qualified a qualified candidate to drive a company truck and pick up donated goods for future sales in our ReStores. This position involves daily communication with dispatch and supervisors to determine the best routes to complete all pick-ups each day and communication with ReStore staff and donors. Successful candidates will be presentable, personable, and professional. The Driver will be a representative of the organization, helping to assess donations, safely load and secure donated goods onto trucks, complete proper donation paperwork, unload materials at the ReStore, and maintain, the truck keeping it clean and ready each day. This position also requires the daily completion of driver inspection reports.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Thoroughly conduct pre and post trip DVIR daily.
  • Ensure that all required truck equipment is accounted for prior to and after route (and each stop).
  • Thoroughly review route for special notes and or instructions prior to the beginning of each day.
  • Loading and unloading items safely and carefully using proper equipment.
  • Issuing donation receipts noting all items picked up before leaving donation site as needed.
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regularly.
  • Direct / Guide Drivers Assistant as needed.
  • Assist the warehouse / ReStore when driving route is completed on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with marketing: placing door hangers after each donation pickup to adjacent homes.
  • Report to your assigned post daily on time ready to work.
  • Safely driving a company vehicle following local road laws and regulations to every scheduled donation stop.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • A clean driving record with no major violations (such as DUI) is often required.
  • The Ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems.
  • The ability to manage schedules, maintain timely deliveries or transport, and adhere to deadlines is crucial.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment, a 75 lb. lift test, a drug screen a criminal background check, and a driving record check.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and vendors .
  • Being able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, as well as working in different weather conditions.

COMPENSATION


The base pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00. The position is being offered at $19.00/hr.
