GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The Cashier position is a customer service role that directly interfaces with our customers in the store daily. The Cashier should be professional and personable. This position completes all cash handling transactions for the store and runs all sales through the cash register. This position will be reconciling cash and credit cards on a daily basis. This position should also push sales and help with customer needs and inquiries.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Commit to excellent customer service and be attentive to all customer inquiries and needs
  • Cashiers must manage transactions with customers accurately and efficiently and help with the daily balancing of funds.
  • Participate and engage customers in store activities such as sales, round up campaigns and gift card sales.
  • Ensure that the checkout area is always orderly and clean. This includes the register, behind the registers and checkout lanes. Work in other areas of the store as needed.
  • Remember product locations in the store to guide the customers throughout the store if needed and make recommendations.
  • Occasionally we will be tasked with pricing donations and engaging in customers and making sales.​

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to handle cash transactions, make changes, and use a register accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and handle inquiries or complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring all transactions are processed correctly and accurately.
  • Ability to keep the checkout area clean and organized and manage multiple tasks during busy times.
  • Prior experience with cash registers, point-of-sales (POS) systems, or handling of cash transactions is often preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS software and basic computer tasks, such as entering transactions or checking inventory.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (such as bags or boxes) as needed.
  • Ability to work well with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable and consistent in showing up for scheduled shifts on time.​

COMPENSATION


Pay Range: $17.27/hr. -$18.50/hr. *PLUS POTENTIAL MONTHLY BONUS*
