Kick-off Event Scheduled for Saturday, August 16th in Long Beach Los Angeles, CA – August 12, 2014: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) will celebrate the ninth home in greater Los Angeles to be sponsored by Thrivent Financial, as well as officially kick off construction on Saturday, August 16. This project would not be possible without the additional financial support of the City of Long Beach and The Long Beach Community Investment Company (LBCIC). Their involvement further demonstrates the City’s strong commitment to affordable housing. Habitat LA will also receive support for this year’s Thrivent Financial home through its Lutheran Coalition and local Lutheran congregations, who are contributing 50 percent of the volunteer hours and 10 percent of the funding needed to complete the home. Students from Air Force Academy, University of Connecticut & Fisher College Spent Spring Break Building Affordable, Sustainable Homes in Lynwood Los Angeles, CA – April 18, 2014: More than 45 students from The United States Air Force Academy, University of Connecticut and Fisher College participated in the 25th anniversary of Collegiate Challenge with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. On eve of L.A. Auto Show, teamGM Cares Volunteers to perform critical home repairs Thursday Nov. 21, 2013  Los Angeles – The General Motors Foundation is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to work alongside a North Long Beach Habitat family to make critical repairs to their home. Toyota to Donate Vehicles to Local Nonprofit Organizations Based on Public Votes  Los Angeles, CA – October 17, 2013:  Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) is one of 250 finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars or Good Program, which will award vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations based votes from the public.  Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program is showcasing five nonprofit organizations a day for 50 days at Facebook.com/Toyota. Delta Air Lines Employees to Build Third Habitat for Humanity Home in Long Beach

More than 2,000 Delta employees volunteer on construction projects from coast to coast Los Angeles, CA (September 9, 2013) – Delta Air Lines employees are rolling up their sleeves to renovate another home with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) as part of a multi-build volunteer effort.
