Deconstruction Services

Deconstruction is an eco-friendly way of remodeling your home.  It will not only benefit you, as the homeowner, but also Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.  Here’s how:

  • Partial Deconstruction:

Talk to your contractor about carefully removing easily-accessible items from your home.  Items such as modular cabinetry, vanities, sinks, appliances, lighting fixtures, bathtubs, crown & base moulding, shower doors, interior & exterior doors, windows and home décor items that are less labor intensive to remove.  Contact our Donations Coordinator to learn how to start a dialogue with your contractor!

  • Full Deconstruction:

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles does not provide direct deconstruction services.  Instead, we have partnered with the Deconstruction & ReUse Network to assist with your full deconstruction needs.  The Deconstruction & ReUse Network (DRN) is a fee for service 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that strongly supports the green building philosophy by advancing the general environmental principal of “reduce, reuse and recycle.”  DRN recycles and reuses materials, from roof to foundation, by providing the ReStore with the bulk of usable materials removed from the deconstruction site.  Ask our Donations Coordinator for more information on how to contact DRN.
