What is the Home Improvement Store?
The Home Improvement Store is an enterprise of Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) that sells new, surplus and gently used building materials and home furnishings to the public. Since it opened to the public in August 2004, the HFH GLA Home Improvement Store has diverted over 5 million pounds from area landfills, the equivalent of 170 million aluminum soft drink cans!
Pounds of material diverted from landfills to date: 1,512,386.15 lbs
The Home Improvement Store helps to recycle surplus new or gently used building and home improvement materials to reduce waste in local landfills and to protect the environment. The Home Improvement Store regularly receives donations from major motion picture and television studios, manufacturers and individuals currently remodeling or deconstructing their homes. All proceeds go directly going back to HFH GLA’s home building efforts. Help us by donating your materials today! (hyperlink to the Donate Goods page)
