Global Builds

This year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is proud to be participating in the Khmer Harvest Build in Cambodia.

Khmer Harvest Build (Cambodia)

The Khmer Harvest Build offers a unique opportunity for Habitat for Humanity volunteers to build affordable homes for families who used to live on the Steung Meanchey municipal dumpsite.  From November 15th to 19th, volunteers will not only build homes for 22 families in the Oudung, Kandal province, but they will also work on a farm that will provide steady work for these families in the future and they will help with greener building technology for future builds in the area.  Spots for this build are filled. Please email ilee@habitatla.org if you are interested in joining us on future builds.  You can also find out more about Global Village trips.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project 2011

Habitat’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project is an annual, internationally-recognized week of building that brings attention to the need for simple, decent and affordable housing in partnership with low-income families. The Carter Work Project is held at a different location each year and attracts volunteers from around the world.

The 28th annual Carter Work Project will be held from Nov. 5th to 12th in Leogane, Haiti (18 miles from Port Au Prince, which is considered to be the epicenter of the January 2010 earthquake).  Please click here for more information.
