For the First Time, Local Customers Join The Home Depot’s National Celebration of Service Campaign to Serve Veterans at Home
On Thursday, Oct. 12, The Home Depot Foundation will partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) and local customers to design, construct and creatively decorate custom wooden playhouses that will be given to six veteran families to enrich the lives of their children. The Home Depot Foundation has long championed its mission to improve the homes and lives of veterans across the United States. Now, for the first time nationwide and in Los Angeles, The Home Depot is inviting its customers and communities to play a role in giving back and serving those who have served.
Customers who previously registered for the project will join Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force, to serve these veteran families. This project is full, and community volunteers were required to pre-register prior to the event.
This project in Los Angeles is part of The Home Depot’s annual Celebration of Service campaign to improve the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans and their families. Giving back to veterans is personal to The Home Depot, as more than 35,000 of the company’s associates have served in the military. As part of the campaign, The Home Depot is encouraging the nation to “Choose to Serve” those who served the country. To learn how to get involved in your community, visit CelebrationOfService.com.
