Box of NailsNew App Streamlines Volunteer Process & Provides Instant Access to Shop and Donate to Local Area ReStores

Los Angeles, CA – July 16, 2014: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is thrilled to announce its mobile app is now available in the Apple App Store and Android market. The app makes signing up to volunteer in the Los Angeles area even easier by listing opportunities available and simplifying the sign-up process. Also available is the ability to donate items to the Los Angeles area ReStores, as well as view highlighted merchandise currently available.

The Habitat LA mobile app is available at no charge and has already been downloaded more than 1,500 times.

“Our new mobile app gives our volunteers and customers the ability to make informed decisions and get involved quickly and easily,” said Erin Rank, president and CEO, Habitat LA. “We want our volunteers to be able to access information anytime and act quickly when someone wants to get involved or to shop our ReStores. Our new mobile app puts the whole Habitat process into the palm of your hands.”

The Habitat LA mobile app will include volunteer opportunities on Habitat LA build sites, in ReStores and at the organization’s new Bellflower headquarters. All volunteer forms can be completed inside the app, thus making the volunteer process more convenient.

Fans of the ReStores will appreciate the ability to “peek” into the retail locations, where merchandise typically turns around quickly due to high demand. Habitat LA will feature items available for purchase, and update it frequently. Additionally, the app will allow for users to discover more about the organization, donate, and share information quickly via social media.

Download the iPhone app and Android.
