Group Volunteer Opportunities
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) partners with a diverse range of groups to Build a Greater Los Angeles. It is our mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Volunteer days are an excellent way to engage your employees/members in a meaningful group experience.
Groups are scheduled Wednesday – Saturday, with Saturdays being priority and are often booked months in advance. Group opportunities consist of new construction/rehabs, home repair, and in our ReStores on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those that sponsor their day. We also have creative opportunities like our playhouse builds and bench builds where we bring Habitat LA to your office, home, or neighborhood!
Corporate team build says can be used as a reward for hard-working employees; an annual community service project; a team building experience; or simply a fun way to get to know a different side of your co-workers.
For other ways to financially support the local building efforts of Habitat LA see our donation options.
Community groups provide significant support for Habitat LA and are encouraged to come out and volunteer with us. We welcome groups from all walks of life to join us in providing decent and affordable housing for those in need. You will find this a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to bond with colleagues while doing something meaningful in the community.
Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity (HFHFH) is an entertainment industry partnership with Habitat LA. Actors, screenwriters, musicians, athletes, agents, directors, producers, studio executives and label executives are welcome and are among the thousands of volunteers who have and continue to help us build homes for people in need, in the greater Los Angeles area and around the world.
Habitat LA has many ways for groups of all denominations and faith traditions to partner with us to put faith into action. Nearly 175 faith groups from across greater Los Angeles are already serving with Habitat LA. Learn more about Faith Partnerships.
Are you an individual looking to have a group build day? We host build days for birthdays, anniversaries, alumni groups and more!
The Veterans Outreach Initiative seeks to engage the veteran community in Habitat LA programs and services (including veterans, active duty military members and their friends and families). These build days provide these groups the opportunity to continue giving back through community service. Individual veterans and groups are encouraged to sign up.
Youth and School
Youth volunteer groups are among our most enthusiastic and energetic. We invite youth 16 years of age and older to volunteer on the construction site and those 14 and older to participate in a group workday at the ReStore. We ask that youth groups have a one to five, adult to youth volunteer ratio. Learn more about our Youth Programs.
